Color masterbatch is a mixture of resin and a large amount of pigment (up to 50%) or dye to form a high concentration of color tone. Color masterbatch, also known as color species, is an aggregate made by uniformly attaching a relatively large amount of pigment or dye to the resin. During processing, a small amount of color masterbatch is mixed with uncolored resin, which can reach the design pigment concentration.
basic feature
1. Pigment or dye
Pigments can be divided into organic pigments and inorganic pigments.
Common organic pigments include phthalocyanine red, phthalocyanine blue, phthalocyanine green, sun-resistant red, macromolecular red, macromolecular yellow, permanent yellow, permanent purple, azo red, etc.
Common inorganic pigments include cadmium red, cadmium yellow, titanium dioxide, carbon black, iron oxide red, iron oxide yellow, etc.
2. Media
The medium is the base material of color masterbatch. The special color masterbatch generally selects the same resin as the product resin as the medium, and the compatibility of the two is good, but the carrier's circulation should also be considered.
3. Dispersant
Dispersant can promote the uniform dispersion of pigment and no longer agglomerate. Dispersant should have a lower melting point than resin, better compatibility with resin and better infectivity with pigment. Commonly used dispersants are polyethylene low molecular wax and stearate.
4. Additives
For example, flame retardant, brightening, bacteriostatic, anti-static, antioxidant and other types, unless the customer requires, generally the color masterbatch does not contain the above additives
Processing technology:
Extrusion, rolling, etc.
Products include pipe fittings, sheets, power cables, fibers, artificial leather, films, etc.
